Welcome to Houghton Lake Church of God! I would like to welcome you to Houghton Lake Church of God where we are a family filled by the spirit that desires more of the mission methods and mindset of Jesus. We believe that Love, Truth, Connection and Compassion are key in how we approach the world with the hope of the gospel one person at a time.

Our Mission

We are a family filled by the Spirit to further the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19–20).

Our Vision

We exist to cultivate a church that desires more of the Mission (“seek and save the lost”), Methods (“speak truth in love and serve all”), and Mindset (“seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness”) of Jesus (1 John 2:3–6).

Love

We strive to show the love of Christ to one another and to the world by joyfully serving and sharing the gospel (1 John 4:19).

Truth

We strive to gain proper understanding of God’s Word, His will, and the world through the lens of Jesus (John 8:32).

Connection

We strive to deepen our connection with God and other believers through experiencing life together (Romans 12:10-16).

Compassion

We strive to show care, concern, and hospitality to those in and outside of the faith (Colossians 3:12).
